Why I founded Skin Laser Solutions

Professionally, I have been involved with permanent hair removal for over 30 years. I guess the real reason the whole thing started was that at the age of 13, I developed coarse black hair on my face, chest and abdomen due to a thyroid condition. It was devastating to me. I did what everybody else did. I shaved, waxed and plucked. Of course my condition got progressively worse.

Thirty years ago, there were very few practitioners with experience or legitimate training in electrolysis. Doctors knew very little about electrolysis, and cared about it even less! I went to many electrologists without much success. I didn’t realize that electrolysis was very difficult to master, and that only a few people did it well. But I didn’t give up. I knew that giving up on electrolysis would mean there was no hope for curing my hirsute condition.

Eventually, and quite by accident, I met a woman who solved my hair removal problem quickly and permanently. I couldn’t believe it! My facial, chest, and abdomen hair were completely gone. I was so amazed that I began giving serious thought to studying electrolysis. But I would only do it if I could be as good as she was. As fate would have it, she said she needed someone, and that she would train me. I apprenticed for a long time, slowly and meticulously cultivating the craft.

Even today, most schools do not provide the training ground necessary for students of hair removal techniques to truly learn these skills. But extensive, disciplined training is essential to becoming a great electrolysis technician. In adding services to my practice over the years, I have applied the same philosophy of extensive, diligent training to every offering I make available to Skin Laser Solutions’ clients.
